1. Can you share a personal story or experience that has had a significant impact on your commitment to adult literacy?

While tutoring my student, I was able to listen to her personal struggles regarding to her coming to the U.S. and how she navigates the different cultures and struggles of being an immigrant. Being able to sense her struggles and determination of learning English and the ways of American life was something that was very motivating for to me help make it easier for her.

2. How do you personally stay motivated and engaged in your work, especially during challenging times?

Experience in answer 1. I can stay committed because I want to be able to help her in any way I can while she is working so hard!

3. Can you describe the specific programs and services your organization offers to support adult learners and promote literacy skills (i.e., ESL, Literacy, Citizenship, HSE, Digital, Health, and how they are delivered, i.e., one-on-one, small groups, classes)?

N/A. I have only had one student and we are still going through the program!

4. Could you share a specific success story of an adult learner who has gone through your program and achieved significant

I structure the classes/sessions around her interests. If she has a certain part of English she is struggling with or wants to improve, I create lesson plans highlighting these subjects. I also help them with specific life events such as vacations and interviews to ensure she feels comfortable while doing them!
