2024 Adult Education &
Literacy Conference

We will be at the Springlake Campus for MetroTech. The address is:

The Conference will be Monday, September 9 and Tuesday, September 10.

You have the same access to the food as the attendees.

• There will be water, coffee and tea available all day, both days.
• There will be a variety of snacks available during the breaks.
• On Monday, there will be Taco Bar. Choices include flour tortillas, crispy taco shells, Cilantro-Lime Chicken, Carne Picada, shredded lettuce, pico de gallo, guacamole, shredded cheese, salsas, Spanish rice &
  black beans. Desert will be a selection of Lemon, Chocolate, or Key Lime Tarts.
• On Tuesday, there will be an Italian Buffet. Items include Traditional Beef Lasagna, Caesar Salad, breadsticks, and a choice between Tiramisu or cheesecake for dessert.

If you need a special diet, such as vegetarian, please be sure to mention it on your registration form. At check-in, you will receive a meal ticket. At lunchtime, you will take the take the ticket to a volunteer at the buffet. They will take your ticket, go back to the kitchen and get your labeled meal. We will make it obvious so you can find them.

The rate will be $144(+tax)/night. To get this special rate, OLC MUST make your reservation. Just let Laura know which days and under what name.

Overflow will be at the Residence Inn at 3151 Northwest Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK 73112. A parking lot separates the hotels.

Be comfortable. Most presenters will be wearing business casual. Most attendees will be wearing jeans.

You will be in a variety of differently sized rooms. Layers are always a good idea.

We will be publishing the schedule once we have all of the presenters lined up.

Yes! Lunches are going to be 75 minutes.

On Monday, wear your nametag and join us at the Embassy Suites for drinks and hors d'oeuvres at the Manager's Reception. This is a courtesy provided by Embassy Suites if you are staying the night. If you are not staying at the hotel, you will receive a ticket with your name tag.

We will be able to get into the building Monday morning at 7:00 AM for set-up. The last session will start at 1:40 PM. I will start tear-down of the staging room at that time. We need to be out of the building at 4:00-4:30 PM on Tuesday.

This conference is a joint effort between CareerTech's Adult Education & Family Literacy Division (AEFL) and Oklahoma Literacy Coalition (OLC).
