2019 Annual Literacy Awards
The Annual Literacy Awards will take place at 2:00 on September 8, 2019, at the Reed Conference Center in Midwest City this year! This year’s theme, “Boots on the Ground,” is a tribute to all of the adult learners, tutors, and teachers who are fighting for Literacy!
The Adult Learner of the Year Awards are competitive. Two basic literacy learners and two English as a Foreign Language learners will be chosen as the Adult Learners of the Year. These four will each receive a plaque and a $100 cash prize. All nominated adult learners will receive a certificate. See the Adult Learner Nomination form below for more details.
Tutor nominations are based on the length of time they have been tutoring. Platinum Level Tutors will be honored at the event. All Tutor nominees will receive a certificate. Please see Tutor Nomination form below for more details.
Immediately after the awards will be the Book Signing. All of the adult learners who contributed stories for Celebrating Our Journey, Volume 11 are invited to participate. This event is co-sponsored by the OK Department of Libraries’ Literacy Resource Office. This is a wonderful opportunity for family and friends to show their support of the adult learners in their lives.
