2019 OLC-TFCU Partnership Grants


Grants are to be used to assist programs with literacy events or projects, provide continuing education, or to purchase new equipment or literacy materials.

Ideas include:

  1. Professional Development/Conferences 
    1. Ours is September 8-10 (approximately $200/person +$108/room/night if needed) 
    2. ProLiteracy is September 25-28 (approximately $2,000/person)
  2. Paying staff 
  3. Materials
  4. Technology
  5. Volunteer Appreciation Events
  6. Subscriptions to Internet-based programs
  7. Memberships
    1. Oklahoma Literacy Coalition
    2. ProLiteracy 
    3. Center for Nonprofits
  8. STEM-based activities
  9. Programs

Applicant Eligibility

Tier One: The applicant organization must be a current 2019 Organizational Member of the Oklahoma Literacy Coalition. (Dues must be received by application deadline, May 6, 2019.)

Tier Two: The applicant organization must be a current 2019 Organizational Member of the Oklahoma Literacy Coalition AND be in good standing with and currently have a representative serving on the OLC Board of Directors. (Contact laura@okliteracy.org for board service details. Board Members must begin a three-year term prior to April 11, 2019.)


OLC grant funds may not be used for alcoholic beverages.

OLC grant funds are otherwise unrestricted and may be used to benefit the program, learners, or tutors.

Grant Overview

Applications for the TFCU Partnership Grant will be accepted April 1 thru May 6, 2019.

There are two tiers available. Programs eligible for Tier One may apply for up to $2,500. Programs eligible for Tier Two may apply for up to $4,000.

A total of $80,000 will be awarded for the calendar year.

Awardees will be notified by May 17, 2019. Checks will be mailed 5-7 business days after notification.

Grants will be awarded by contractual agreement. All funds must be encumbered by November 1, 2019.

Any unused funds for the specified project must be returned to the Coalition 30 days following the completion of the funded project.
